CAR SHARING GROUPS during the Camp, Festival & Journey
You will be responsible for your own transportation in Portugal, which means you need to take part in our car sharing system.
The Festival place is in the country side about 15 min drive from the most interesting beaches and villages. We will be visiting various sites all around. In order to be able to enjoy the area and group activity fully – you need a car! Busses, scooters and bikes are not efficiently available and will not work for our community in this location.
We all commit to one car group to share the costs. For efficiency, especially during free times, we can switch around taking lifts with different people going at different times to different places, as needed. This only works peacefully if everyone takes part and works together.
You can either rent a car (and share the costs within your group) OR you can join a car group and pay your share. To coordinate that we have a shared file in google docs available, were we invite everyone registered to the festival and you also just can open the link below. You can post that you are renting a car and looking for people to join or if you are looking for a place in a car you can use this to find one. You can also see how long people are staying and find the ones who are staying around the same time like you.

We suggest to get a good insurance policy for the car. With a group car this is the safest. You can also call the car rental site for free for advice and questions. See links above for telephone number.
A car will be about 110 € a week. So if you share a car with 5 people it will be about 22 €/week or less plus gas. Of course you can have your own car.
Unfortunately we cant make exceptions concerning the car sharing system. Everyone has to be organized into the car sharing system.
AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION
The best would be if you coordinate with your car group to be picked up at the airport. If you are the first one of your car sharing group arriving at the airport, you can be the one who picks up the car.
Consider beforehand who will be officially driving the car. It makes sense to chose a car rental company, were two people will be on the real contract markt as drivers for free. In order to be marked as drivers, the driving license needs to be present when signing the contract. Drivers can also be put in the contract later. If you want more than two drivers you may have to pay around € 10/driver extra. Check this before booking, it might differ from contract to contract!
You can also take a Taxi for about 40-50 € to the location.
